Five Staffordshire Press-molded Octagonal Tortoiseshell-glazed Earthenware Plates, England, third quarter 18th century, with reeded rim, dia. 8 1/2 in. Provenance: The Swan Tavern, Yorktown, Virginia. Estimate $400-600 One has a small chip on the back of one corner; one has an in-the-making split in the rim; the others have no obvious chips, cracks, or evidence of repair.
