Five Early Staffordshire Plates, England, 1760-1810, a white salt-glazed stoneware plate with press-molded dot, diaper, and basketweave border, underglaze blue rim and scrolls, dia. 9 5/8; a green-glazed wavy-edge plate with barley border, dia. 9 1/2; a green-glazed plate with engine-turned decoration, dia. 7 1/2; an octagonal creamware plate with polychrome enameled blossoms in relief, dia. 9; and a pearlware peafowl plate, dia. 8 5/8 in. Estimate $800-1,200 Saltglaze: 3 3/4" rim hairline Green w/barley: Scattered glaze wear; glaze loss to ares of inner rim. Green engine turned: In good condition. Octag. Creamware: Slight corner chip.
