William Sommer (American, 1867-1949) The Purple Goat Signed and dated "William Sommer. 1942" l.r., identified on a label affixed to the backing. Ink and watercolor on paper, sight size 11 3/4 x 17 in. (29.8 x 43.2 cm), in a Prendergast-style frame. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Provenance: Ex-collection of Henry Francis, former curator at the Cleveland Museum of Art, then by descent.
