Brass "Le Coq a Vernon" Wheel Cutting Engine, France, dated 1789, a freestanding hand-powered tool, the brass frame supported by cylindrical legs, 5 3/4 in. brass dividing plate with fourteen numbered rows and inscribed Le Coq a Vernon 1789 , with pivoting steel indexing arm and ivory crank handle, in old wood box with snipe hinges, engine lg. 8 1/4, ht. 7 in.
