Louis Icart (French, 1888-1950) Vitese, 1927 (Holland et al. , 311). Signed "Louis Icart" in pencil l.r., dated and publisher within the plate, artist's dry stamp l.l., inscribed "Ep. d'A" in pencil l.l. Etching with hand-coloring on paper, plate size 15 1/2 x 26 in. (39.3 x 65.8 cm), in a Deco-style frame. Condition: Repaired tear to left margin and into image, not examined out of frame. Sheet with irregular edges, paper losses, nicks and wear, size approximately 17 3/4 x 27 1/4 inches (45.1 x 69.2 cm). Repaired tears: two located l.c. in margin, measuring 1-1/2 in. and 1-1/4 in., that do not extend into the image. Three more located c.l. edge measuring 1/2 inch, 1 inch, and 1-1/2 inches, the last two extending subtly into the image by 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch respectively. Gently light struck. Glue residue on the reverse to right and top edges.
