Louis Icart (French 1888–1950), Le Voix du Cannon (Voice of the Cannon)-1917, drypoint and etching. Signed in pencil lower right, marked lower left "7/10 e'pr d'artiste". Framed 34" x 41". Image size approximately 16" x 23". Prolific Art Deco artist Louis Icart created this image of an emotive and determined French woman being shot from a cannon during the First World War. It was one of Icart's patriotic etchings during the war years. Furthmore, Le Voix du Cannon was one of his rarest images.
