Butternut Bombe Commode, French Canada, late 18th century, the rectangular top with molded edge and ovolo corners on elaborately carved case of three graduated drawers, and carved rococo knees continuing to carved claw-and-ball feet, joined by a deep shaped carved skirt to similarly carved rear legs, possibly original cast rococo brasses, old refinish, (imperfections), ht. 30 1/4, wd. 31, dp. 21 in. secondary wood pine, patches to drawerfront thumbmolding, small cracks to case sides at back edge.
