Waltham- Silver Five Minute Repeater American Waltham Watch Co. , Waltham, Mass., No. 3793601, circa 1888. Very fine and rare, silver, keyless, hunting-cased watch with a five-minute repeater. Four-body, large, polished, hinged cuvette. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute and fifth-seconds ring with five-minute Arabic minute/seconds markers, sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. 14 size, 3/4 plate, striped, 17 jewels in settings, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, safety pinion. Dial, case, and movement signed. Movement also engraved, "Patented 1888.” Diam. 53 mm. Notes Waltham only manufactured 800 five-minute repeating movements from 1888 using numbers 3793400 to 3794200.
