A Spalding Official National League Baseball (Giles) used in batting and/or fielding practice at the 1952 World Series. The baseball features signatures of members of the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers, obtained on-site at the 1952 World Series by Whalen Monica. The ball features 23 signatures including Brooklyn Dodgers teammates Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Billy Cox (signed twice), Carl Erskine, Gil Hodges, Rocky Nelson, Rube Walker, manager Chuck Dressen, coach Jake Pitler, coach Billy Herman and coach Cookie Lavagetto. The baseball is additionally signed by New York Yankees teammates Mickey Mantle, Johnny Mize, Phil Rizzuto, Billy Martin, Yogi Berra, manager Casey Stengel, along with former MLB players Joe Cronin, Eddie Stanky and Connie Mack. In 1952, the Yankees won their fourth straight World Series title, defeating the Dodgers in seven games. The baseball is accompanied by a red 1952 World Series Field pass, originally issued to Whalen Monica, that reads "Holder of ticket entitled to/ Field privileges at/ Yankee Stadium/ for/ World Series/ Games/ 3 4 5."
