A peasant tunic and skirt worn by Jean Peters in Captain From Castile (20th Century, 1947). The calico poncho-style tunic has colorful cross-hatching embroidery embellishing the neckline and shoulders. The ankle-length full cotton skirt has a painterly floral print. A bias label in the skirt reads "1 64 2 0994 508-06 Jean Peters." The skirt was worn in the film, and Peters wore the tunic for publicity photographs. The costumes were designed by Charles Le Maire. Accompanied by a publicity still of Peters wearing the skirt and a copy of the film. Categories:
