Walnut Carved and Glazed Step-back Cupboard, Pennsylvania, early 19th century, the elaborately molded cornice above a reeded frieze and two nine-light cupboard doors flanked by lambrequin corners, set into a projecting lower section of three short thumb-molded drawers and paneled cupboard doors below centering reeding, and flanked by reeded herringbone designs, all on dovetailed bracket base, ht. 89 1/2, wd. 58 1/2, dp. 23 in. Provenance: The property of Carolyn and Tom Porter. Estimate $1,500-2,500 refinished, a few repairs and replacements to the matchstick cornice molding, a repaired split to the back tight edge of the cornice, glazed doors not original to top, interior repainted, splits to backboards, stains to top, minor losses to the thumbmolding on the drawers, and hardware replaced.
