Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Connecticut, 1875-80, the molded burl veneer and ebonized bezel opening to a paper and metal dial showing the date, month and day of week and the maker's name "Wm.L. Gilbert Co. Winsted Conn" above carved leaf and scroll elements and the pendulum box door with silver transfer tablet opening to the maker's label, all on carved bracket, old finish, (minor imperfections), ht. 31 in.
