Wedding Frock Coat, Waistcoat, and Cravat Belonging to Rufus Erastus Crane, probably New York, New York, 1850, deep blue superfine broadcloth double breasted overcoat lined with silk, with plain brass buttons, the silk waistcoat with woven watered texture and gilt thread flowers, with a woven silk cravat, ht. 36 in. Note: Rufus Erastus Crane was born June 3, 1815. On June 10, 1850, he married Anna Maria Ridley (1827-1905) at the Episcopal Church on 19th Street in New York. Family history states that this outfit was made specifically for his wedding. Crane died September 8, 1865.
