Continental, late 19th century. Louis XV style giltwood bergere, the carved giltwood frame with a C-scroll crest issuing floral garlands to downscrolled foliate arms, upholstered in gold and cream striped silk, over a serpentine shaped apron carved with C-scroll and foliage and raised on cabriole legs carved at the knee with foliage and terminating in scrolled toes. Height 34.5", width 25.5"(arm to arm), seat depth 20, seat height 18". Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. H.C. Carson of Atlanta, Georgia.
