Continental, probably Italian, 19th Century. Louis XV style giltwood carved settee, the rectangular back with acanthus carved crest centered with shell and trailing bellflower, the foliate carved arms with padded elbow rests over an serpentine padded seat with a conforming apron accented with shell carved reserves and diaper marquetry, and rising on cabriole legs terminating scrolled toes, the back and seat covered in floral embossed mustard velvet. Height 51", width 69", seat depth 26", seat height 16".
