Gurley, Troy, N.Y., with silvered 5 1/4-inch dial, fleur-de-lis at North, East and West points reversed and engraved in large capitals, blued-steel needle with central brass clamp, needle ring divided 0-90° in four quadrants with divisions continuing to inner rim, horizontal plate with opposite silvered verniers, vials, and A-frames supporting 12-inch telescope with bronzed finish and calibrated vial, ht. level 9 3/4 in., (lacking vertical circle), in mahogany case with early maker's label William Gurley, Lewis E.
