Mahogany Regulator Attributed to Simon Willard, Boston, c. 1815, the mahogany patent timpiece-form case with 10 3/4-in. dia. painted iron Roman numeral dial with illegible inscription, blued-steel barbed hands, carved side ornaments flanking the waist section with gold leaf reverse-painted glass, the lower hinged section with gold leaf ocean scene on a blue background, both in banded frames, large eight-day, brass plate movement with recoil escapement, maintaining power, through bolts for movement attachment, trapezoidal lead weight, wooden rod and brass faced pendulum bob, ht. 57 in.
