Italian Baroque Fruitwood Cassone, 17th century, hinged single panel top above section carved with a central carved strapwork-decorated shield and framed by additional applied moldings and a large carved register, lower rail carved to three sides with gadroons, raised on paw feet, ht. 22, wd. 66 1/2, dp. 20 3/8 in. Extensive worming. Long, narrow patch to top of back. Paw feet and bottom molding later.
