Eight Bird-and-Flower Painting Leaves from an Album, China, in the manner of Zhao Wenshu, depicting daffodils and pink roses; roses with a bird; white plums with a bird; white cherry blossoms with two red birds; purple flowers and daisies with two chicks; a barren branch with a bird; grasses with bees and a white bird on a rock; and white orchid flowers with lingzhi ; signed "Tianshui Nushi Zhao Wenshu" with a seal reading "Wenshu" on daffodils and a collector's seal reading "Ahhua Taoshi Zencang" on the reverse, ink and color on silk, each leaf 26 1/2 x 21 in. Provenance: From the estate of Kai Suhr, who supplied Chiang-Kai-shek's army in China between the years of 1938-1939.
