Very fine and rare, 18K gold and painted on enamel, cabriolet pendant watch with a gold and enamel key. Outer: three-body, foliate chased, the back very finely painted on enamel with the Madonna Della Sedia after Raphael within a shaped dark blue enamel border and outer pale blue and white enamel border. Inner: Four-body, the back cover decorated with a very finely painted on enamel alpine lake view, polished bezel and band, foliate engraved pendant and bow. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold, line engine-turned with radial Roman numerals, outer dot minute markers, subsidiary seconds, the center finely engraved with riverside buildings. Blued steel Breguet hands. 31 mm., 14’’’, frosted gilt, bar calibre, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm flat-rim balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette signed. Diam. 43 mm. Notes John Magnin & Guedin (Veuve) Worked in Geneva in the middle of the 19th century. The Madonna della Sedia The enamel scene on this watch is after Raphael's "Madonna della Sedia" or Madonna of the chair, painted in 1514, today in the Pitti Palace in Florence.
