Emanuel Brothers, London, No. 11556, made for the Islamic Market, circa 1820. Fine gilt brass underpainted horn covered hunting cased watch. Four body with reeded band, horn covered cover and back underpainted with very fine bouquets of flowers. Hinged inner bezel and gilt brass fixed inner dome. White enamel with Turkish numerals. Gold "spade " hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, gilt brass English balance cock. Signed on the dial, Turkish signature on the back plate. Diam. 49 mm. Notes Fine example of underpainted horn covered watch, usually found in poor condition.
