Neuchâtel, circa 1850. Fine and rare 18K gold and enamel pearl- and ruby-set bangle and pendant watch. Three-body bangle with hinged top decorated with askeletonized azure enamel pattern, centered with an oval ruby surroundedby four pearls, two rubies on each extremity, scrolling borders, hinged,engraved bracelet expanding at the top, snap-on bezel to hold the watch.Watch: Four-body, “bassine”, back centered by floral motifs on a whiteenamel background, scrolling engraving, reeded band, gold hinged cuvette. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steelBreguet hands. Notes Around 1830 and afterwards, the passion for accessories led to pendant watches being designed so as to be lodged in bangles as well, to suit the owner’s fancy.
