Signed and dated "1897" and "1900," respectively, the woman identified in inscriptions, likely by the artist, on a paper behind the portrait as "Lillias Ivy Hayward/married to M.C. Bird son of Joseph Bird/Pres't Manhattan Savings institution-New York/Pt. by her Father Gerald S. Hayward/London & New York." Watercolor on ivory, 3 1/4 x 2 1/2, 3 1/8 x 2 3/8 in., respectively, in similar chased silvered-brass pendant oval cases. Not examined out of frames, good condition, woman with tiny stain at upper left field.
