Oscar De Mejo (American, 1911-1992) Historic Battle Scene. Signed and dated "oscar de Mejo/1974" u.l. Oil on board, 22 x 30 in., framed. Condition: Scattered minor surface imperfections. N.B. This scene is thought to depict a battle from the War of 1812. The American flag depicted has fifteen stars in a staggered formation and fifteen stripes, the same flag immortalized as "The Star Spangled Banner" and in use from 1795 to 1818.
