Bukinham Silver Pair Case Watch with Differential Dial, London, c. 1700, the outer case with chased foliate decoration and elaborately engraved depicting Bellona on a trophy of arms, opens to the plain inner case hallmarked WF and cast silver champleve differential dial marked B(v)kinham with rotating center Roman numeral ring against a center of military iconography including cannons, drums, banners, and ancient weapons, outer Arabic numerals on raised cartouches and blued steel hand, verge escapement chain fusee movement marked Bukinham London , brass balance with mock pendulum, solid balance cock engraved with military symbols and a portrait, pierced foot, silvered regulating dial and vase-shaped pillars, cased dia. 55 mm.
