Continental Chip-carved Blanket Chest, of typical form, paneled construction, the front carved with stylized arches, wrought iron escutcheon, wd. 56 3/4, ht. 27, dp. 22 3/4 in. Heavy shrinkage and cracking throughout top and sides; interior base with gapping to planking as well; this is a 17th century chest. The chip carving is most likely later.
