Woven Willow Hamper Basket, 19th century, the hamper basket with upright handle was German made and sold by the Shakers, ht. 12 in. Literature: Shaker Baskets and Poplarware by Kennedy, Beale, and Johnson, Berkshire House, publisher, pp. 148-49. Basket lacking latches on hamper flaps, the lantern has electric fixture in font, and is lacking handle.
