George Wickes, London, 1727 and with later additions of tall tapered cylindrical form, the body chased in high relief and applied with a forest scene of Actaeon as a stag being attacked by his hounds as Artemis and her nymphs attempt to rescue him above a band of sweeping leaf-tips and band of running flowers, applied in front with later spout with a female head issuing from a lion mask below, the hinged cover chased with a bird and snail amongst foliage and topped by a later finial fully modeled as a farmer with a sheath of wheat, the scroll handle with fluted scroll thumbpiece and terminating in a heart, applied with baluster drop below hinge and engraved with arms in a baroque cartouche 93 ozt 6 dwt Height 14 inches
