John Newton, London, No. 2604, circa 1790. Fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl-set watch. Outer double body, with split-pearl set bezels, the back of blue flinque enamel. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals. Gold "arrow" hands. Hinged gilt-brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel threearm balance, flat balance spring, gilt-brass English cock with diamond end-stone. Signed on the back plate. Diam. 48 mm.
