John Newton, London, No. 2604, circa 1790. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set watch. Outer double body, with split-pearl set bezels, the back of blue translucent enamel over engineturning. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals. Gold arrow hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass English cock with diamond end-stone. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 48 mm.
