George Graham, London, No. 416, casemaker William Sherwood, hallmarked 1716.Very fine and rare 22 ct. pair-cased quarter repeating watch. Outer: two-body, square hinge, back with inhabited foliage centred by a monogram, mask and exotic birds, band with four engraved cartouches with four scenes, separated by pierced and engraved masks with dragons. Inner: two-body, band entirely pierced and engraved with exotic birds, dragon heads, mask, all intertwined with foliage, with polished back, gilded dust cap. Notes One of the earliest surviving quarter repeaters by George Graham.
