Roskopf Patent, circa 1900. Rare and fine 18 ct. gold keyless watch. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", entirely engraved with a floral and foliage decoration. Gold cuvette engraved with a decoration matching that of the case. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer red Arabic minute ring. GiIt brass "Louis XV" hands. 18-, nickel plated, three quarter plate, 12 jewels, typical Roskopf patented pin-pallet lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial. Roskopf patent trade mark on the case, cuvette and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm. Notes Very fine example of a Roskopf watch, almost never made in gold case. Being jewelled, the movement of this watch is of far better quality than most of Roskopf movement. This watch was certainly made upon a special request or as an exhibition piece.
