(53.3 x 43.3 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, scattered dots of retouch, small paint loss l.c., stable craquelure. Provenance: Cyril Joseph Bowdring, Washington D.C., to a private collection by family descent. Inscribed "Title: The Boot Black Artist W.M. Hunt/Owner John Harvey Wright to be returned to Bos..." in pencil on the stretcher. Tag printed with name and address "JOHN H. WRIGHT/100 Devonshire St./ Boston, Mass." above which is inscribed in ink "Artist W.M. Hunt/ property of" is affixed to the back of the frame.
