Federal Mahogany Veneer and Inlaid Tall Clock by Simon Willard, Massachusetts, c. 1800, the arched molded hood with three reeded plinths joined by pierced fretwork and surmounted by turned brass finials, above an inlaid glazed tombstone door flanked by freestanding reeded and brass stop-fluted columns, molded waist door flanked by brass stop-fluted quarter-columns, all on molded base, 12 in. white-painted and polychrome iron dial inscribed S. Willard. , with landscape and figure in the arch, Roman and Arabic numerals and floral spandrels, brass eight-day weight-driven time and strike movement, the back of the dial inscribed S.W. and the iron backplate marked Osborne's Manufactory , with three brass finials, wooden pendulum rod with brass-faced bob, and key, refinished, (imperfections, minor restoration), ht. 90 1/2 in. object right fret is a replacement; lacks weights; lacks feet; lacks veneer on base and door.
