Large Norton Rockingham Glazed Stoneware Tree Stump-form Planter, F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Massachusetts, mid to late 19th century, molded with vines, cut branches, and bird's nest on the exterior, with large central and five smaller openings, the vines with blue-green glaze highlighting, impressed "F.B. NORTON WORCESTER MASS." on base, (imperfections), ht. 18 1/2 in. Base with cracks and spider hairlines, one crack continuing up side about 8 in., several small cracks around central opening possibly from the firing process, all the smaller opening s with small to large chips mostly shallow, several small chips on body.
