Henry Lerolle (French, 1848-1929) The Long Walk Signed "Lerolle" l. l. Oil on canvas, 24 x 29 in. (61.0 x 73.7 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, flaking, lifting, losses, surface grime. Areas of retouch as follows: l.c. 4 1/2 x 1 in, also to left of right figure 1 in. long. Several areas in sky, some older areas that fluoresce brown and newer ones that fluoresce purple, the largest being 3 x 1 1/2 in. in the sky c.l. , also in u.r. corner. Old retouch l.r. quadrant in an area measuring 7 x 4 in. Old retouch along right edge 3 x 1 1/2 in, located five inches up from the l.r. corner. Small dot to left of figures measuring 1/4 inch diameter, and l.l. corner measuring 4 1/4 in. wide that does not touch signature.
