Thomas Hart Benton (American, 1889-1975) Prodigal Son, 1939, edition of 250, published by Associated American Artists (Fath, 29). Signed "Benton" in pencil l.r., signed within the matrix, identified on a label from AAA affixed to the backing. Lithograph on paper, image size 10 1/8 x 13 1/4 in. (25.5 x 33.5 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, foxing, rippling, not examined out of frame. Print mounted to window mat with masking tape along each edge of the reverse. Brown paper tape remnants around perimeter of the reverse. Toning and foxing to sheet. Acid burn from old corrugated backing and tape, along with some white spots of reduced staining, to the reverse. Sheet size approximately 12 x 15 3/8 in. Numbered "427" in pencil on the reverse. The condition photos online include one taken of the reverse against a light box.
