Empire-style Bureau a Cylindre , mahogany case with gilt-bronze mounts, top with a row of three drawers above roll-top opening to reveal internal writing surface and compartments, with lower central drawer flanked by two additional drawers to either side, raised on square tapered legs terminating in sabot-mounted feet, ht. 46 1/2, wd. 48, dp. 26 1/2 in. Shrinkage crack to backing of internal compartment. Left side drawer of internal compartment with damage to back joint and loss to drawer stop. Also with scattered surface abrasions consistent with usage. Scattered chips to veneer along back and one small chip under central drawer front. Mount to central drawer front slightly loose.
