Iron Red Overglazed Enamel Porcelain Ewer, China, Qing dynasty, Tibetan bumpa -shape, with S-form spout issuing from the jaw of the molded makara with enameled details and the eyes in underglaze blues, the multi-tier neck with bats and clouds, the hollow, dish-shaped mouth separately made, its interior in underglaze turquoise and sides with bats and clouds between gilt beaded edges, the globular body painted with two five-clawed dragons amongst clouds, flames, and bats, the eyes defined in underglaze blues, between a ruyi band and a lotus lappet above and below, the two-tiered splayed foot with bats and clouds and a lappet band between two molded rings of gilt beads, six-character Qianlong mark to concave base in underglaze turquoise blue, ht. 1 7/8, wd. 6 3/8 in.
