Blue Jasper Dip Oval Portrait Medallion of Honora Edgeworth, England, c. 1780, applied white relief portrait with impressed title below, unmarked though inscribed on the reverse Rev. Mr. Seward, (slight flake to back edge), 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 in. Note: Following Honora's death, Josiah's friend Richard Lovell Edgeworth wrote to Wedgwood requesting twelve portraits of his dear Honora "from a profile of Mrs. Harrington and an excellent picture of Smart." The Reverend Seward was vicar at Lichfield (Mr. Edgeworth's church) and his daughter was Honora's best friend. Most likely all of the medallions are unmarked.
