Needlework Sampler "Olive Spaulding," Billerica, Massachusetts, 1816, worked in silk threads on a linen ground, with geometric border surrounding an upper register with location and a verse flanked by floral devices, above seven lines of alphabet, and lower register with the maker's name and date surrounded by a flowering vine, (toning to linen ground, some fading, frame with veneer losses), 17 1/2 x 11 in. , in a mitered mahogany veneer frame (no glass).
