18th/19th century, of cylindrical form, the domed lid carved in relief with a crowned lion within a foliate border, having an applied handle with a lion thumbpiece and leaf form terminal, raised on four lion supports, the underside carved with a rosette in relief and indistinct maker's initials. Height overall 8 5/8 inches.
