mid-18th century, the case surmounted with a gilt figure of Atlas holding the heavens flanked by two spherical finials, the brass dial with steel chapter ring having Roman hours and Arabic minutes, further set with a secondary dial and date dial with C-scroll spandrels to the corners, the case inlaid with scrolling decoration, the trunk door with cast brass lenticle, raised on flattened bun feet. Height 103 inches.
