A group of items from Stan Laurel's work with the Hollywood Victory Caravan to raise funds for the Army and Navy relief funds during World War II. Group includes a spiral-bound booklet with numerous glossy photographs taken by staff cameraman Gene Lester documenting the Hollywood Victory Caravan tour; a group of three 8 by 10 inch glossy press photographs from the Army Signal Corp. depicting Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy and other entertainers on the Flying Showboat tour; a group of digital prints featuring images from the Hollywood Victory Caravan tour as well as the Flying Showboat tour; a citation from Boreas Rex VII (Lambert Gill), King of the St. Paul Winter Carnival, thanking Stan Laurel for his service in the Hollywood Victory Caravan that stopped in Minnesota in 1942 (the citation, housed in a frame, is an invitation to return later that year for the St. Paul Winter Carnival; while in Minnesota, the entertainers raised $65,000); and a book of newspaper clippings about the tour with "Stan Laurel" embossed on the cover at lower right. The Hollywood Victory Caravan included numerous Hollywood luminaries, among them Cary Grant, Claudette Colbert and Laurel and Hardy.
