A mixed media on illustration board design sketch of the wedding gown worn by Grace Kelly to the religious ceremony of the royal wedding of Kelly to Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956, signed "Designed by Helen Rose. " The dress was executed by Oscar-winning costume designer Rose, whom Kelly personally chose to design both her civil ceremony dress and religious ceremony gown. Kelly's gown comprises peau de soie, tulle, and 19th-century Brussels needle lace and is embellished with seed pearls. Princess Grace gifted the actual royal wedding ensemble to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where it is reported to be one of its most popular acquisitions. The consignor acquired this lot from the estate of Helen Rose. 15 by 20 inches Categories: GRACE KELLY
