The first day cover cachet envelope by Art Craft commemorates the first day of issue of the James Naismith United States postage stamp in 1961. The stamp is cancelled "First Day of Issue," and the envelope is postmarked Springfield, Massachusetts, November 6, 1961. Springfield is the home of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The envelope is signed " 'Pistol Pete'/ Maravich" in black pencil. Accompanied by a Pete Maravich 1996 Topps NBA Stars basketball card #28 graded PSA GEM MT 10, and a Pete Maravich 2012 Panini America card, Father's Day promotion #23 and numbered 1 of 1.
