A David Bowie stage played Takamine 12-string dreadnought acoustic/electric guitar. Serial number 89031116, model FP 400SC, built circa 1989. Bowie used this guitar during his 1990 Sound + Vision tour. The tour included 108 concerts over seven months in more than 80 cities around the world. Bowie promoted the tour as a “greatest hits” tour and stated it was the last time he was going to play songs from his back catalog. The set list was determined by fan votes in the United Kingdom, the United States, and throughout Europe. Bowie can be seen playing the same or similar guitar in numerous photographs and videos from the tour. Top solid spruce, rosewood back, sides and fingerboard, dot inlays, and Parametric electronics. The electronics have settings marked with gaffer tape. Accompanied by a hardshell case, a Sound and Vision tour itinerary, a small selection of guitar picks, some imprinted “Bowie Tin Machine,” and a package of D’Addario guitar strings.
