A Strathmore side spiral sketch book owned and used by Rick Griffin. The sketch book includes four pen and/or graphite hand preliminary sketches and Griffin's personal notes and lists. Two of the sketch book pages have preliminary drawings for the cover of the book Conversations with the Dead by David Gans, one with additional sketches and lettering affixed atop the original sketch; a third skull with a crown of roses may also have been a study for this cover. The fourth sketch is a rough image of a man holding a woman in his arms. Among the personal notes is one page of future plans and things that needed to be accomplished and a mind map with the central thoughts "God/ Christ Centered/ Family/ Rick Gina/ Dorian Shep."
