Autographed Rawlings Official National League, signed by umpires Doug Harvey, Greg Bonin, Tom Hallion and Frank Pulli, circa late 1990s. One of Pulli’s closest calls came in the sixth inning of Game Four of the 1978 WS between the Dodgers and the Yankees. New York had Thurman Munson on second and Reggie Jackson on first when Lou Piniella hit a shot to shortstop Bill Russell. Russell dropped the ball, picked it up, stepped on second, and threw toward first, but his throw hit Jackson. Pulli ruled no interference despite Dodger manager Tom Lasorda’s argument that Jackson had intentionally deflected the toss. The Yankees went on to win the Series and Jackson became Mr. October. Overall excellent condition. PROVENANCE Lot 241, “Bob Hope Estate Auction,” Julien’s, Beverly Hills, October 18 and 19, 2008. Categories: Bob Hope
