1970–71 team-signed Kentucky Colonels ABA basketball. Eleven signatures including coach Frank Ramsey, only season; rookie Dan Issel who went on to a Hall of Fame career also starring with Denver in the NBA; Louis Dampier who later joined the Spurs. The Colonels fielded a team during the entire nine seasons of the ABA, winning the highest percentage of any franchise. Dan Issel, drafted out of Kentucky, made an immediate impact in the 1970–71 season, leading the team in scoring with a 29.9 average.
